Hey, there ! It’s me, Sarah — the person behind the lens…

Recently, while going through some boxes of old memorabilia, I came across a picture of me holding a camera; I was 12 years old. I realized in that moment that I have always loved taking pictures, but it wasn’t until many years later that I would learn how to create more than just snapshots.

I had always thought that my interest in photography hadn’t come until my kids were grown, but I was wrong. The realization that photography was something that was always inside me was like finding myself again. Now when I pick up my camera, it is like connecting with an old friend. It is my happy place.

I’m so grateful to have connected with that part of myself once again, and over the years, I have grown very passionate about capturing my family’s memories. I truly believe when we embrace the beauty and chaos of everyday moments, that we are embracing and celebrating life…and isn’t life worth celebrating?
